All comments on my vids and messages that are sent to me are remaining
as unread even though I have read them and clicked on them. It says I
have 8 video comments that are new yet they have been old for a couple
weeks even monthes.

I have been having the same issue for over a month. There has been
only 1 day where this has been correct. It's frustrating and there is
no self fix that I know of. It's up to YT to correct the issue.
