Hi I made the following post elsewhere it probably should have been
here... apologies if youve had to read it twice...

I completely understand why there needs to be a file size limit, but
why on earth have a time limit? The only thing that matters is
bandwidth not video length.

I didnt realise there was a 10.59min limit, only that there was a 1GB
limit.

Ive spent hours uploading videos that have been rejected and thus
wasting mine and youtube's bandwidth doing so. in some cases theyve
been uploading even after the time/size was well exceeded but they
just carried on loading and wasting bandwidth.

Why oh, why can youtube servers not check the file size (and if
necessary) the
file's time length) PRIOR to upload and immediately tell user the file
is not suitable THEN, so the user doesn't spend hours wasting
everyones time and bandwidth.

like others say a load progress bar would be great
