When YouTube disables the audio of a video that contains content owned
or licensed by a copyright holder, YouTube used to tell the owner of
the video what content was matched. Now, YouTube does not state the
content but merely says it is "content owned or licensed by [entity]."
This is a clear sign of a decline in customer service and it needs to
be changed.
In my case, I am more than willing to edit out the offending content
and upload a fixed version of my videos. However, without knowing what
content to remove, it becomes very difficult for me to do so.
Furthermore, without knowing what content was supposedly matched, it
is much harder to file a dispute claim if I believe the content was
misidentified.
