I hate this change! What i do is I send friend requests to channels
with similar interests as my videos, then I send out a bulletin
whenever I have something to say or upload a new video. It gets me a
bunch of subscribers and viewers. Stop shooting yourself in the foot,
and give me the bulletins back!

I liked the bulletin's feature, why did u have to take it off! who
told you that bulletin's sucks? I used it sometimes, can you bring it
back youtube? other than that, put the date (like uploaded 1 week ago)
back!!!! just bring it back, put both features, bulletins and the new
one.
What the heck!? Why did you get rid of the date uploaded and the
number of comments? That was very useful information that helped
people know either if the info is outdated and if it is popular,
respectively. I know a lot of people looked at that info and it is
just as helpful as the rating it has. The bulletin system is
something I never personally used much but I can understand why people
are upset and I think that should be brought back as well. One last
problem I have is the video's time now being on the thumbnail/picture
of the video. What was wrong with the way it was before? Now it just
gets in the way.
Please stop making these changes Youtube. Only add the things that
many people are asking for or that you are 100% sure about (and have
actually thought seriously about).

I hate the Recent Activity box
and I wish you would warn us before adding privacy-reducing features.
I also am disappointed that the videos
displayed in the "Videos" window
no longer show when they were added.
That was a very useful feature.
Please, guys, stop fixing stuff that ain't broke!
And BTW, this statement
"we've set your initial Recent Activity
settings according to what you already publicly show on your channel
today"
is simply not true.
I found my channel showing info
that I have NEVER chosen to broadcast.
It would have been courteous to warn us
before making these sweeping changes.
Not only was my privacy compromised
when the unannounced Recent Activity box
began broadcasting all sorts of info,
I also lost a couple of Bulletins
that took me a while to write
and that I would like to have saved.
But they are gone with the wind,
and with no warning.
Geeze, just treat us like adults, okay?
And add a status bar to the uploader.
You should be embarrassed to not have something
as standard and ubiquitous as that.

"I guess it's something we will have to get used to."
Yes, it's like YT is being run by the federal government.
Tinker, tinker, tinker,
removing what works, adding useless complications,
inviting "feedback" AFTER the changes have been imposed on us,
throwing away our info (eg, Bulletins)
with no chance to save it first,
playing with the uploader but never providing a status bar...
How about actually listening to the users
(you know, the people who popularize your site?)
BEFORE making all these changes?
Yes, it often takes four or even more "readings"
to get a message to stop being highlighted as "unread."
Let's fix the problems rather than changing what works, please.
BTW, WTF is the "Audio Preview" function for?
I don't know anyone who's figured that one out.
Here's a proposition for you:
I'll trade you the Audio Preview AND the Recent Activities box
for "Date Posted" on all videos and a Status Bar on the Uploader.
I'm glad that you are combining individual activities into one box but
I find it way too cluttered. Are uploads and favorites even necessary?
If you recently uploaded a video, it should also appear in your videos
box as well and the videos box is just right there so I see no need
for uploaded videos to be in recent activity as well as favorites.
Comments, ratings, and shoutouts are great but again it's cluttered.
What I would recommend is a separation of those into tabs then users
can look at comments, ratings, and shoutouts/bulletins separately and
would probably look neater and better organized.

YouTube, you have recently messed with a good thing, and I am not
happy. At this time, I am only a viewer, not an uploader,
incidentally. Also, I am a 56-year-old female who lives on the East
Coast of the U.S., so I understand that I may not meet your targeted
demographic. Still, please take note of the following. And please,
Please, PLEASE, YouTube Timmy, YouTube Liz, YouTube Anna, or any other
YouTube individuals reading this, Please comment, and please pass on
to those who make decisions that these changes should be considered.
Thanks!
1. Videos formerly displayed with a URL like the following:
If ChannelName was a newly-discovered channel on my part, and I saw
that it had 190 videos, I could do the math and drill down to the page
containing its earliest videos, namely page 10, by reconstructing the
URL as follows:
From the first 3 pages of videos, I can page ahead only to page 5.
From the 4th and subsequent pages of videos, I can only page ahead 2
pages. Similar increments are true for going backwards.
2. To make matters worse, no matter what page I've selected a video
from, when I hit the Back button to return to the video selection
page, I'm back at the first page. And now I have to dig back down to
get to where I was before!
3. The latest unappreciated move you've made is to have taken the date
added away from the video displays! OK, I have subscriptions. But what
happens is that only the latest video added by a subscription shows up
in the front page box. For some of my more prolific subscribers, one
of the first things I do is go into their channels and see if there
are any other videos they've uploaded since I last signed on.
4. A little thing - the More From box is no longer automatically
expanded. Please consider either expanding it automatically again or
making this capability an option.
5. Also, several changes were made to the Playlist edit function
displays some time back, including not noting whether a video is no
longer available and also not noting who uploaded it. I go through and
prune the no-longer-available videos in my Playlists from time to
time, and now I have to keep another window or tab open to the public
view of each Playlist in order to be able to do this accurately.
Having the channel that uploaded it displayed would also help in order
to be able to quickly zoom in on deleting a video from a Channel that
I know has been closed.
I liked when YouTube added the ability to display your recent comments
on your channel. The recent changes are a step backward, however. For
one thing, the repeated heading "Channelname commented on ...", which
someone else mentioned, is ugly.
But more importantly, the "more" prompt when displaying those recent
comments is unnecessary. The comment can only be a maximum of 500
characters anyway, not very long to begin with. There's no reason to
cut a short comment even shorter with a "more" prompt. It only makes
the feature less useful, and the space savings is not significant.
Once again, the feature was fine the way it was before.
These changes make me very sad and upset. The Bulletins was a great
way to keep in contact with all your friends since your mail doesn't
work properly and your sharing videos options are completely messed
up. I have over 400 subs and it is really a pain to have to send out
4+ different share's to reach them all since it only sends to 100 at a
time. I use your "Labels" feature to sort out the different topics
and specific people who like them or dislike them. The Labels don't
work now in the Share Video option.
PLEASE fix these things before monkeying with other things. There are
many things broken that have needed to be fixed for a long time and
now you're adding more garbage into the mix.
BTW I disabled your invasive box as soon as I could route out the
places to do so. I'd already disabled the previous ones and was upset
to find that my activity had been broadcast on my channel before I
realized you'd added this irritating tracker to my channel.
GIF and animated channel icons and banners are necessary. They were
effective in showing more info in one space. They were an option for
so long many many partners have moving banners.
Please allow that again. It wasn't hurting anyone was it? if it was
could you please explain how or announce the feature's removal
official?
There were 4 rated videos on my rating box, now there are the last 2
of those on my recent activity box. Can i change it?
Because of playlists' page was sorted by name, i used to sort my
playlists' page changing the first char of my playlists' names. Which
is the present rule by the playlists are sorted?
Bullettins were useful to me, none has never asked to me if they were.
> GIF and animated channel icons and banners are necessary
I'm actually very glad animated GIFs and the like aren't allowed. I
find them tasteless and distracting.
> I appreciate these forums
Me too! Too bad they weren't around 2 years ago when I joined and
searched assiduously for them, thinking "of COURSE there are site help
forums. They must be somewhere; I just haven't found them yet."
YouTubeTalk filled the bill for a while, but it's better to have them
here.
Yea I just realised I could choose what appeared in the Recent
Activity box. I still like the old setting cos "username has done
this, username has done that" sounds silly.
I quite liked the old bulletin box too, is there really any point to
the friends option any more?

First of all I think the little square sign in the corner of the
videos should be put back on the videos in your favorites and videos
so you dont have to waste time and then click "account, favorites" and
then check each favorite you want and have to keep pushing "next" to
go through them. It's easier just to push "favorites" from your
channel and click the box on the video, and also have PAGE NUMBERS. It
would also be nice of the quicklist just kept playing it over and over
again, because some people like to use them as a playlist and have a
song play constantly instead of having to add 6 different videos of
the same song. It's annoying having to alt-tab out of a video game to
restart music. It would also be nice to have the bulletins box back,
because I have like 43 friends and I don't want to have to go to each
of their pages to see what was posted. It would also be nice to have
all the options scroll down on the "account" instead of your youtube
name. I click my name to go back to my channel, not accidentally push
"my videos". Also make the background image size bigger. The only way
to make it's KB size smaller is to either get rid of detail or shrink
the picture and I happen to like my desktop size pictures and details.
Almost every picture nowdays have over 600KB because photoshop is so
advanced that it's able to add actual detail. Please change this.

I also forgot to mention the fact that on someones video subscription,
it should say how many videos they have in total so you don't have to
waste time to go to their channel and see how many they have. It also
shows you if they are popular enough or something to help you know on
whether you want to check it out, plus it's just fun to see how many
videos a person has made, and it also made it alot easier for me to
choose channels I WANT to look at. I'd also like the videos to show
how many people have favorited it, because I think that shows how much
people like your videos even more than the ratings do. I could have a
person rate my video as a 5, but I think when it says it's been
favorited, that it seems even better than a 5 rating. It's almost like
a 100+ rating. I think when you push "edit channel" it should have
EVERY OPTION on there, like it used to have. I don't like having to
push "account" to go to an option that is for some un-known reason
isn't on my "edit channel" I mean changing my password, picture, and
video order is considered "editing a channel" is it not? Especially
for people with slower computers, its probably the most frustrating
thing to do, having to click a completely different page everytime you
want something. First I go to edit channel, then I go to me account,
then I have to go to options, then I have to go back to my account,
and norice I don't like my recent settings and then have to do it over
again. And when you choose your profession for your channel like
"comedian, guru, artist" Itit would be nice to still show your age.
It's annoying that the only way to show your age is to have the
default, boring, non-profession channel. Just let the youtube users
change things and tell you if they want it changed, stop randomly
changing things that only make the website worse. I think youtube was
the best about a year and a half ago when nothing was being changed.
Of course that's when the users were agreeing on what they wanted.
Listen to us. Please change this, I guarantee people will be happier.

I love the idea of an optional "Recent Activity" box that includes
only the following features: (each one being optional themselves)
1) New friends I've made.
2) Videos that I've newly added to my favorites and playlists.
3) New videos that I've uploaded.
4) Channels that I've newly subscribed to.
5) YouTube users who recently subscribed to my channel.
Additionally, I would like a "See more" button on this box to see all
previous entries on each of these categories.
That being said, I would like very much to keep the three other boxes
that existed before as completely separate and have them function as
before:
1) My recent ratings.
2) My recent comments.
3) My bulletins. (The bulletins are the most important, though.)
A suggestion to keep the bulletins box free of spam and unwanted
content is to let users choose which friends (and ideally
subscriptions) they want to receive bulletins from. (All, none, or
selected.)
A "See more" button on each box would also extremely helpful also. (To
see all previous entries in each of these categories.)
Thank you so much YouTube Timmy and team - for listening and being
willing to respond to the needs and heartfelt requests of so many of
your devoted users, who would dearly love our bulletins back and our
YouTube more like it was a week ago! (When it was working great and
most users were very happy with things just the way they were!) :-)
