There's no way I want youtube taking control of any computer
functionality or operations.
Almost everybody is on a data plan with their ISP so who cares if the
computer and connection continues to run after the download is
complete, as long as firewalls etc are all good.
You can adjust computer settings for standby mode yourself if you want
to save power/ internet connections anyway.

i like some of it and i like some of the single loader.
it would be better if you included the progress meter AND the twirlie!
why?
because if you do that you can monitor two important functions of an
upload which compounds when you are dealing with multiple uploads:
1. the progress meter shows that you are still uploading but in
stepped increments and how long you have to go or how much has made it
through.
2. the twirlie (provided it works as i think it should and is relative
to the upload process rather than being a decorative version) tells
you that the process hasn't stopped. something very important for
those of us with slow dialup upping multiple files as the progress
counter on its own isn't dynamic to the second, more like to several
minutes.
for mine i can never understand why sites are moving to this format.
myspace has the old format of a filling guage bar with the percentage
measure inside it (like when copying a large file to another directory
on your computer). i mean that format is great and does the task
perfectly.
why are we going to something that is LESS functional and informative
than that? surely the applets aren't THAT different in size or ease of
use?
one thing i forgot to mention though was a GOOD thing.
the multi will resume most of the time when your connection drops and
resumes.
not so important for DSL but very much so for dialup.
